I like having some easier problems like this on the web. It gets us out of our Physics book and allows us to learn in a different way. The only problem I can forsee is that the Lafayette server is frequently down, so that might hinder us from completing web assignments. Other than that, I think this is an excellent idea. None that have not been corrected. Some people may not be aware that the web password is the same as the last four digits of their SS number. This should be made clear. approach to homework where problems are assigned in a text book. In that case only sometimes can an answer be checked, and if it is wrong, there is no similar prob. to try again, only the possiblity to correct and do-over the same one. no, I actually like it better than ding the traditional homework assignments. It was nice to have the opportunity to go back to the same problems to correct them, but using different numbers. :-) nope, I like this better than traditional homework assignments actually. Be able to not only check my ansers but try similar ones again is a big help. :-) no not really personally, for me, it takes me a lot of extra time to get onto the internet, and to type the answers into the computer as opposed to just writing out the assignments. hmm well it was kind of confusing with how you do the answer key, i thought you could go back and check your answers but (oops) i guess then people would just copy, so i didn't hit 'submit ' the first time... i came back and tried the problems this second time and i'm going to submit this one. Ok I think I am getting the hang of this now... I was a little unclear about how your answers get checked but now I think I understand. You just re-log in when you want to try the problems again? I think i'm getting it :) No, it was just not what I was used to. However, that is not a bad thing. No problems nope no no No. I need to motivate more to do them becasue they require a trip to the computer lab. However, once I have arrived at the computer lab, the assignment is more interesting to do rather than straight problems out of the text. not that i know of No, as long as they are continually posted a week in advance, for there are time consyraints for those who must trek to the computer lab. no, I think this method is a good way to introduce students who don't use the world wide web very often. Using a computer is a different way to keep a student's interest while doing homework--it helps me anyway.
